Heartburn Cures - or at least some relief

Do you persistently suffer from heartburn and can’t find relief, read on and hopefully you will have a better idea how to procede.

For most people, heartburn is mild and occasional.

So, please don’t take your chest pain litely. It could be serious.

Some people confuse heartburn chest pain with a heart attack, but it’s really a problem with the upper digestive system. Esophageal valve is not working properly and not protecting food pipe from hydrochloric acid produced by your stomach.

Most of us have experienced some form of heartburn. That burning feeling in your chest which radiates to the back of your throat.

A lot of different factors can reopen the door. There are foods that don’t agree with you (citrus, peppermint, chocolate and fatty and spicy foods top the list).

If your heartburn is persistent and you can’t connect it with anything you’re putting into your mouth, it could be the symptom of an ulcer.

If your experiencing heartburn several times a week, it’s a problem and you need to make changes. If left untreated, gastroesophageal-reflux disease (GERD) or ulcers might become your future diagnosis.

But more often than not your pain isn’t because your heart is starving for oxygen. It’s because your esophagus (the food tube that leads to the stomach) is being painted with acid.

Heartburn (GERD, Acid Reflux, Pyrosis) could be just a minor discomfort after eating a heavy meal or it could be a chronic condition affecting quality of your life.

If you drink Canada Dry Ginger Ale, you’ll relieve an upset stomach.

Besides being a delicious sandwich spread, this condiment aids digestion.

Combine two teaspoons of Heinz Apple Cider Vinegar into one cup of water.

Eat Uncle Ben’s Converted Brand Rice in order to cure heartburn.

This will not keep heartburn away forever but it will drive it away in approximately 3-5 minutes and should keep it away for 24 hours or more before an additional dose is necessary.

Another quick and simple idea is to drop 1/2 teaspoon white vinegar onto a single slice of white bread.

Chew on a stick of Wrigley’s Spearmint Gum to eliminate heartburn.

When awaking from heartburn discomfort, stand up immediately.

Usually if I have heartburn any clear soda pop will help ie 7-Up, Lemon Lime, Sierra Mist, etc.

If you suffer recurring heartburn, make a list of all prescription and over-the-counter medications you are currently taking and show it to your doctor.

Lighting up increases stomach acid production and weakens the muscle at the end of the esophagus that is supposed to prevent stomach acid from creeping in.

When you lie down within a few hours after eating a meal, stomach acid has a way of creeping into your esophagus and attacking sensitive nerve endings there, causing pain.

Eating just before bed is never a good idea, but if you can’t help it, you can avoid an upset stomach if you prop the head of your bed up about six inches with a couple of bricks or wooden blocks.
